What Can a Patient Expect When They Detox From Addiction?

Detox treatment is the initial step in the recovery process and should not be considered as a completed treatment program. That will come later after a full program of inpatient and outpatient treatment to develop a recovery and relapse prevention plan.

Detox should not increase the struggles of dealing with addiction. That’s why Pinnacle Peak Recovery uses evidence-based treatment and can offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) if needed. 

There are both physical and mental aspects at play with addiction to alcohol or drugs, or both.

Detox Addresses The Physical Aspect Of Treatment In Two Ways:

• Physical symptoms occur upon withdrawal from and discontinuation of substance use. Withdrawal can be mildly annoying or extremely uncomfortable and potentially life-threatening if not done in a medically-supervised environment.
